What are Views and Unique Views?

  • Views
The number of times a page or piece of interactivity has been seen by a reader. If a reader clicked through the entire publication and then navigated back to page four, this would count as two views for page four.
  • Unique views
Purely a confirmation that a page or piece of interactivity has been seen by one reader during their visit. This gives a clearer indication of how many readers have viewed something, rather than the number of times an object has been viewed.
Example
If a reader clicked through the entire publication and then navigated back to page four, this would count as one unique view for page four. If the reader closed the publication and then came back at a later date and viewed page four, this would be another unique view for page four. This is because unique views are generated by separate visits to the publication.
